The Indiana Fever have just catapulted themselves into the Top-3 list of title contenders going into the 2025 season, signing former Connecticut Sun and two-time WNBA champion DeWanna Bonner to a one-year deal. Bonner reunites with former head coach Stephanie White and brings a ton of veteran leadership and experience.
The Fever had cap space to work with after trading NaLyssa Smith on Friday to the Dallas Wings and it was much anticipated that they would make at least one more big move in free agency. Bonner was the last remaining star left amongst free agents after the many moves made early by multiple teams.
GM Amber Cox made it very clear back in November that the Fever were serious about winning and bringing a championship back to Indianapolis.

The goal for the Fever this season was to bolster the roster with postseason experience, something the team lacked in last season's first round exit. They had zero postseason experience amongst all of their starters entering that series with the Sun in 2024.
Bonner averaged 15.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in last years 2024 campaign. She was also selected to her third All-Star game in four seasons last year.
She brings large stats and a 15-year career to the Fever. Bonner is just seven points away from hitting No.3 on the WNBA all-time scoring leaders list.
Lack of depth was the problem and now the question will remain what the starting five will look like for the Fever with the additions of Natasha Howard, Sophie Cunningham and DeWanna Bonner.
