Aliyah Boston found success in the WNBA quickly. She has already been an All-Star twice, helped lead her team to the playoffs, and ranked fifth in scoring among all starting centers in the 2024 season. The only players ahead of her were established veterans: A’ja Wilson, Brittney Griner, Tina Charles, and Jonquel Jones.

And yet, her third WNBA season could be even better. Boston seems set up well for a third-year jump. She has more experience now, will be surrounded by better teammates, and will be well-prepared for the new WNBA season after playing in Unrivaled.

Boston is a member of the Vinyl Basketball Club, playing alongside Arike Ogunbowale, Rae Burrell, Rhyne Howard, Dearica Hamby, and Jordin Canada. In the team’s first game against the Rose Basketball Club, Boston put up 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. It was a solid performance, but there is much more to come.

Aliyah Boston will join Fever ready for big 2025 WNBA season

The Fever have big goals for the future, hoping to build a championship contender around Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. Playing in Unrivaled should help Boston prepare for a competitive 2025 WNBA season.

First of all, every player competing in Unrivaled will return to the W in great shape. The court may be shorter, and the quarters not as long, but the fast-paced 3-on-3 style still requires a lot of running on offense as well as on defense. No player can ever afford to take a possession off, especially defensively.

On top of that, Boston will be regularly facing off against some of the best forwards and centers in the game, like Napheesa Collier, Alyssa Thomas, Breanna Stewart, and Brittney Griner. It will be a great preparation for when she will have to face the same players once again on a WNBA court.

Unrivaled will offer Boston consistent opportunities to work on her game. The spacing will allow her to improve her one-on-one game and footwork in the post, but she will also become a better decision-maker. Because the game is so fast, players must process situations quickly and make the right read before the moment passes. Boston already was a good playmaker for the Fever in the 2024 season, averaging 3.2 assists per game, but could become even better.

Boston will get to hone all of her skills and work on her weaknesses while playing in Unrivaled and will return to the Fever already in rhythm. Sometimes, players need a few games to get their groove back at the beginning of a season, but that won’t be the case for Boston in 2025. She should be at her best right away.

The rest of the WNBA should watch out for the Indiana Fever. Caitlin Clark was only a rookie last season. She is bound to be much better in 2025. If everything goes well, Boston will also be even better than she has been so far, and the Fever will make significant additions to the roster. They likely won’t be eliminated from the playoffs as easily as they were last year.
