In just the first two days in January, the Kelce brothers might have already recorded the best podcast of 2025.

The New Heights podcast hosted its first episode of 2025 with special guest Caitlin Clark, much to the delight of fans of the podcast. In just over an hour, Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce, and Clark talked about topics far and wide, including the WNBA Rookie of the Year's transition into professional basketball.

Clark was honest about the transition, saying that it was quite the change in scenery-- even if she was still in the Midwest.

"The timespan, that's what was so weird about it," said Clark, referring to the quick turnaround between the 2024 NCAA Tournament and the beginning of the WNBA season. "It's just so short and condensed, you don't have much time... I told myself 'there's no point in complaining, everybody's dealing with it. It's not any different.'"

Jason Kelce referenced Clark's TIME Magazine article, where Clark was asked how she would describe her rookie season in one word. Clark chose "historic," but Kelce wanted to give her an opportunity to use two words.

Clark, once again, picked perfectly: "Life changing."

"All in a good way, things just change really fast," said Clark. "It's crazy-- looking back a year ago around this time, I was just beginning my senior year of college... Life just changes fast, but that's what makes it fun and cool."

The trio touched on a wide range of topics throughout the episode-- Lakes vs. oceans, eardrum injuries during water activities, the draft process, and the new NBA All-Star format. Clark also touched on her transition from being the top college basketball player in the nation to now being the rookie in a WNBA locker room.

"You come in as a rookie and you're trying to figure out a new environment, new teammates," said Clark. "You don't want to say too much, you don't want to say too little... In my scenario, [I was] already highly thought of, people are turning to you to be something, or be someone."

"You're trying to get your feet wet, but also not do too much. I think that's what I struggled with early on... but also I had a lot of really good vets around me too so I feel really grateful for that."

The interview gave fans a chance to see Caitlin Clark as a person and not just a phenom on the court. She and the Kelce brothers exchanged questions, talking about the NFL and their experiences as Midwesterners. They tested each other on their knowledge of Iowa alumni as well, Clark taking home the crown as expected.

The interview is Caitlin Clark unfiltered, and exactly what 2025 needed to get things rolling into WNBA free agency.

You can expect to see Clark at a ton of Kansas City Chiefs games next season as well-- Travis Kelce extended an open invitation. The Clark-Taylor Swift budding friendship should get a new chapter as well.
