In a lot of ways, the 2025 WNBA Draft hasn't exactly been the biggest focal point for the Indiana Fever as the team heads into the 2025 season. That makes sense; after last year's number one selection and a series of free agency trades, the Fever didn't even have picks in this year's draft until the second round.

The team's front office also made it clear in recent days that the draft matters, but there are a lot of other moving pieces the franchise is focused on. While speaking to reporters last week, Fever general manager Amanda Cox said putting together a team's draft board is all about thinking about the "best pieces" available at each slot.

"You’re kind of at the mercy of what every other team is going to do, so you really build out your board and say, ‘This is our list, and what happens on draft night happens on draft night,’ and you get the best available in here," she added.

The 2025 WNBA Draft: Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever had three selections in the 2025 WNBA Draft: No. 19, No. 20, and No. 33. The minimum rookie contract this season is $66,079, which means the team may not be able to bring all three rookies on board this year (Spotrac has the Fever dead last in terms of available cap space ahead of the draft —the site reports Indiana has $112,073 left).

Indiana Fever 2025 WNBA Draft pick No. 19: Makayla Timpson

The Fever front office has openly described Timpson as exactly the type of player they wanted to draft, and she's described as one of Caitlin Clark's all-time favorite types of players: a rim runner. She's a great fit for a team that moves quickly, and if the Fever can find a way to keep her on the roster, she will be a solid fit for many seasons to come.

Indiana Fever 2025 WNBA Draft pick No. 20: Bree Hall

Hall is about her defensive presence on the court, which makes her a strong fit for the Fever. She shot over 50% from the 3-point line throughout the NCAA Tournament. Like Timpson, if the Fever can keep her on the roster this year, Hall will do a lot of damage for the team.

For the Fever, speed and defense will be crucial to the team's path toward the Championship, and Timpson and Hall will bring their top game.
