The Indiana Fever will play in a preseason matchup against the Brazilian National Team on May 4 at Iowa University, the team announced Thursday.

Iowa's Carver-Hawkeye Arena, a place Indiana's Caitlin Clark knows quite well, will play host to Clark and the Fever as they begin to ramp up for the 2025 WNBA season. It will be the first time Clark will play on the court that bears her name since March 25, 2024, an NCAA Tournament Second Round matchup against West Virginia.

This will be the first of what the WNBA has reportedly promised to be several events where the WNBA markets the Indiana Fever as "America's Team." The Fever draw an unprecedented amount of attention to the league, and the league will begin to capitalize on it on May 4.

Fever forward Damiris Dantas will be taking on a familiar foe, as she was previously a member of the Brazilian National Team during 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics in London and Rio de Janeiro, respectively.

Clark had a tremendous career at Iowa, arguably one of the greatest individual careers in women's basketball history. She broke Pete Maravich's all-time college basketball scoring record, a record that stood for 54 years, and led the nation in scoring for three of her four years in college. She led Iowa to two straight national championship games, falling to LSU and undefeated South Carolina her junior and senior seasons respectively.

Clark will return to Carver-Hawkeye Arena sooner than the May 4 matchup, though, as she will be honored on February 2 with a jersey retirement. She and the Fever will see that No. 22 jersey in the rafters when they take on Brazil.
