What to know about the Laces
Maybe we're jumping the gun a bit... but Kayla McBride has a very strong case for league MVP as it stands just one week in.
Women's basketball media knew McBride would thrive in this league, but she wasn't predicted to do this. The Lynx guard is ranked second in Unrivaled in scoring, trailing only WNBA teammate Napheesa Collier, and is filling up the stat sheet in every other area too. Coming off a season where she averaged 15 points per game, McBride is going to town in a league that includes 13 of the players above her on the WNBA scoring list.
The Laces have just five players, but that hasn't stopped them from playing some top-tier 3v3 basketball.
What to know about the Vinyl
When your third-highest scorer is Arike Ogunbowale, you know that you're doing something right.
The Vinyl have looked dominant so far, sharing the ball and hitting shots at a high clip. They are tied for the most points per game through two contests (81.5) and have showed no signs of slowing down. While the guards have dominated, namely Rhyne Howard with 23.5 points per game, asking an opponent to stop a frontcourt rotation of Dearica Hamby and Aliyah Boston is a tall task.
The Vinyl can play with anybody, but they have had an easy path thus far. The Laces will be their first true test.
