What to know about the Mist
The Mist were incredibly short-handed against the Phantom. Jewell Loyd and DiJonnai Carrington both missed the action with leg injuries, meaning the Fever's NaLyssa Smith, fresh off of her departure from the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in China, was able to be signed on a reserve contract. Even with the extra help down low, the Mist struggled to contain Phantom's Brittney Griner (29 points, 9 rebounds).
The statuses of Loyd and Carrington is unknown as of Friday night, but the Mist can use all the help they can get. A squad that looked like one of the best in the league on paper is still searching for its first win in Game 4. The Rose are also looking for win number one, meaning the defensive gameplan for Mist will be containing Kahleah Copper and "Point Gawd" Chelsea Gray.
What to know about the Rose
Two losses by less than 10 points is nothing to be concerned about. Just 71 points per game with a league-best five double-digit scorers, on the other hand, is a completely different story.
The issue certainly isn't the hustle. Angel Reese has averaged a double-double, providing the boost on the glass, and Copper and Gray have run the offense well. The Rose are just simply being outscored by not playing as fast as the rest of the league, something they will need to fix Saturday if they want any chance of breaking the losing streak.
