Caitlin Clark may be one of the biggest-name athletes in sports right now. That is a bold statement, but just about any time something happens with Clark, it is all over the media and she is just playing in the regular season right now.

Clark probably isn't going to be leading the Indiana Fever to the WNBA Playoff this season unless a miracle happens, but she is the centerpiece of the team and the person they will build around.

There was a lot of talk about how Clark would adjust to playing in the WNBA coming in as a women's college basketball superstar. There is no doubt that Clark has had her struggles in the pros, but she is still putting up great numbers even as a rookie on a struggling team.

Before the season even started, Clark was in the running in MVP odds and was the favorite to win the WNBA Rookie of the Year. While she is still in the running for Rookie of the Year, her MVP odds have probably slipped. However, in her first month in the pros, Clark won Rookie of the Month and by far has played the most minutes of any rookie.

When it comes to rookies, Clark has played 458 minutes for the Fever which is 118 minutes more than Sevgi Uzun, who has the second-highest minutes among rookies. Among rookies, Clark is also fifth in total rebounds, first in assists, second in steals, third in blocks, first in turnovers, second in efficiency, and first in points per game.

As of right now, Clark is averaging 15.6 points per game, 32.7 minutes, 4.9 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.4 steals. Unfortunately, she also averages 5.5 turnovers per game, but moving from the college ranks to the pros has been an adjustment.

When looking at Clark's numbers among all of the WNBA which includes veterans, she is still among the top in rankings.

Clark is ranked 16th in points per game, fourth in assists per game, 26th in total rebounds per game, and 16th in minutes per game.

Clark is still adjusting to the WNBA just like any rookie would, but she is easily the best rookie in the league. She can easily drop 20 to 30 points per game when she is able to get quality shots. being on a struggling team has probably hurt Clark's stats a bit, but just wait till this young team matures, they can easily be a contender year in and year out.
