Fever center Temi Fagbenle continued her active season following Indiana's first round exit, playing for the Beşiktaş Women's Basketball Team in Turkey.
Since October 10, Fagbenle has played a huge role for the Turkish club. In nine games, Fagbenle is averaging a double-double (16.1 PPG, 10.4 REB) to go along with 1.5 steals per contest. She has failed to grab less than seven rebounds since joining the club and recorded four double-doubles in just seven games in October.
Fagbenle's most recent outing came on November 14, which saw her drop 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Beşiktaş next plays on Thursday, taking on Benfica at home.
The past few months have taken a toll on Fagbenle
It was a frustrating WNBA season for Fagbenle. The 6-foot-4 center missed a total of three months due to injury, one stint for her leg and the other for her thumb. She told reporters when she returned in August that it was a "mental struggle," but she ended the season playing a key role off the bench.
Fagbenle started the final game of Indiana's season, Game 2 against the Connecticut Sun in the First Round of the WNBA Playoffs. Fagbenle recorded nine points on 50% shooting, nine rebounds, three assists and a steal, filling up the stat sheet in the losing effort.
While IFR reported just over a week ago that Fagbenle was not likely to return to Indiana next season, the 32-year-old is making a great case overseas for the Fever to resign her. She enters the free agency period as a restricted free agent, and the Fever will have until February to make a decision.
