Indiana Fever have a great young core consisting of Nalyssa Smith, Aaliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark. Smith was drafted second overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft, Boston was the first pick in 2023, and Clark was the first pick in 2024. All three players will be expected to improve next season due to there age and experience that they have already under their belt.

Boston is one of two Fever players that will participate in Unrivaled in January. She and Lexie Hull are set to tip off as opponents on the league's inaugural night.

Out of the three players mentioned in this article, we discuss how Aaliyah Boston could elevate her game next season.

Improve upon her three-point shooting

Boston's game has got many positives such as her rebounding, but one aspect of her game that needs refining is her three point shooting. This season she shot 29% from the three-point line, which was down from the previous year's percentage of 40%. If she does not improve then players will leave her open when she has a three.

Teams will also start doubling Caitlin Clark instead of contesting for her long-range three pointers. While this may benefit Clarks teammates by opening the floor for them, if they don't nail down their threes it will not amount to much.

Limit the travels

Another aspect of her game that she needs to work on is travelling. They can't run the game through Boston as she travels every time she touches the ball. A lot of her travel issues come down to her predictable post moves many players have been able to read like a book.

What also results is travels is when she slips at the top of the key and second guesses whether she should stop/pass or assess the catch and drive. This is very problematic for Indiana Fever as it can ruin plays unnecessarily. If Boston improves her foot speed, she will have less problems in relation to her opponents reading her post moves.

Setting screens

Boston needs to work on her screens. The 23-year-old doesn't seem to get in the right positions to set screens for her teammates or doesn't set a proper screen. In a regular season game last season against the New York Liberty, she wiped out Kayla Thorton on a screen (but luckily for Boston there was no call against her).

This is a huge issues as the team does not need her picking up needless foul calls for illegal screens. It is also detrimental as her team cannot run pick-and-rolls through her which can effect their offense.
