The Indiana Fever were busy this offseason, going from a young playoff team to a legitimate contender. They re-signed Kelsey Mitchell and added several veterans with championship experience and the ability to defend at a high level. The Fever’s most notable additions were DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard, but Sophie Cunningham will also play a significant role off the bench.

After a successful offseason, the Fever are now a much more experienced and deeper team, especially in the frontcourt. Between Aliyah Boston, Natasha Howard, Brianna Turner, Damiris Dantas, and DeWanna Bonner, the Fever have plenty of size, talent, and versatility at the forward and center spots.

They wasted no time showcasing that versatility to the rest of the league.

Latest workout video should have opponents worried about Fever frontcourt

The Indiana Fever have made it a habit to post workout videos throughout the offseason. We have already seen Caitlin Clark working on her left hand, getting open for shots off the ball, and building chemistry with her new teammate Brianna Turner. Turner has been a regular in the Fever’s workout videos and also appeared in the latest one alongside Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard.

The video shows the three frontcourt players working on their post moves, drives, and short jumpers, utilizing both their right and left hands. They also worked on screens and pick-and-roll actions—a skill any big playing next to Caitlin Clark should possess. Last season, the two-man game between Clark and Boston was one of the Fever’s biggest assets offensively. Now, Clark has several other talented pick-and-roll partners.

While it is always good to see players working out in the offseason and getting ready for the new season, there was plenty of other stuff for Fever fans to be excited about in this video. The main thing is the versatility Boston, Howard, and Turner displayed. They scored and attacked the basket in several different ways and all locked comfortable with the moves.

The Fever made it their mission to improve defensively. Being one of the worst defensive teams in the league is not good enough for a team wanting to win a championship. The additions of Bonner, Turner, Cunningham, and Howard should definitely help with that, but the Fever’s strong suit will still be offense. They added more high-level scorers and will be deadly from pretty much anywhere on the floor.

Most defenses will likely be focused on Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and DeWanna Bonner, but, as this latest video proves, the frontcourt has plenty of versatility and firepower to offer as well. That should worry the rest of the WNBA because how do you defend a team that has strong and versatile scorers at every position?
