Lexie Hull and Azura Stevens Get Their ROSES
The Indiana Fever's Lexie Hull and the Los Angeles Sparks' Azura Stevens have both accomplished so much in their basketball careers, and now they meet as teammates for Roses BC at Unrivaled in Miami. They… pic.twitter.com/sUkt0Ryx9P
Hull joined the podcast via video chat from Miami, Fla. as she prepared for Rose's Friday matchup with former Fever teammate NaLyssa Smith's Mist. She said she is glad to be spending this abnormally cold winter in the tropical Florida climate.
"Miami's been great," said Hull. "It's 80 degrees all week, so no complaints over here... It's freezing [in Indianapolis] so happy to be here. A lot of my friends and family also have been visiting because of the weather so it's a great place to be."
Hull talked about the adjustment to playing full-court 3-on-3 basketball. She cherishes the fact that she gets to play with some of the best players in the WNBA in Chelsea Gray and Angel Reese, players that for most of the year are opponents.
Hull has taken the opportunity to learn from them.
"It's just so cool to be able to play with players that have so much experience," said Hull. "You can just tell in the way that they practice, in the way that they communicate with each other, that it's at another level... I'm just trying to soak up as much as I can."
Hull also opened up about the offseason moves that the Fever have made. In just the first week of WNBA Free Agency, Indiana has added DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, Sydney Colson, and Sophie Cunningham to the roster, catapulting the league's most polarizing franchise into title contention.
Hull cannot wait to get to training camp.
"We're just so excited," said Hull. "I'm still getting used to this, heading into my fourth year. Every single season, every team just looks so different... I'm excited about the leadership that's coming in and the experience that's coming in."
The Fever begin the WNBA season at home against the Chicago Sky, but for now Hull is focusing on her matchup with the Mist Friday night.
