4. Kamilla Cardoso

Reese’s teammate quickly jumped into the Sky’s starting five and is holding things down at the five. The third overall pick did not play in Chicago’s first six games, but it took just three games after that before she became their starting center. The 6’7 rookie has three double-doubles and has been significantly impactful in year one.

Cardoso averages 8.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 26.2 minutes per game so far this season. She does not space the floor but is controlling the paint. The Sky are the best rebounding team in the W, and they have two rookies to thank.

The third overall pick has been a slight disappointment, but the 23-year-old will continue to improve. The Sky are clinging to the final playoff spot and need Cardoso to step up more after the Olympic break. She has the potential and should be ready to answer the bell.

Kamilla Cardoso just turned 23 and is part of the Chicago Sky’s new young core. Expect her to remain a starter and key contributor over the final 16 games. The Sky will be focused on making the playoffs and need Cardoso to be a strong rim protector, rebounder, and inside finisher to reach that goal.
