The Indiana Fever are back in contention behind Caitlin Clark but face a busy offseason. They have already made massive changes to their front office and hired a new head coach. Indiana wants to build around Clark, but the 22-year-old faces a difficult decision too.

Unrivaled hopes to land the face of the WNBA for their inaugural season. The player-backed league already signed Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull to its 36-player roster. It has been a hard push to land Clark, but she has the final say.

There has been plenty of commentary about her involvement, but no official announcement. Unrivaled expanded its player pool last week, so fans must wait for this to get concrete word.

Unrivaled must announce 5 more players before Caitlin Clark's decision is official

The league has announced 30 of 36 players for year one, including Clark’s best friend from her college days Kate Martin, and two Fever teammates. Unrivaled is trying to draw more attention to the league, so why would they make Clark the 31st player? It makes sense to save her for the final spot if she plans on joining. That means five players will be announced before fans finally find out.

Clark may still be deciding. She went directly from her final college season at the University of Iowa right into a historic first WNBA season. The 22-year-old broke records and brought millions of fans to the league. It was a whirlwind campaign, and Clark deserves a break. Unrivaled does not begin play until January, but it is on the Fever’s star to determine if she wants to play.

It feels like it will be Unrivaled or nothing this offseason. She is not headed overseas, and Clark has two teammates in the new league. It only makes sense to join them and work on their games together. Unrivaled is full-court 3-on-3 basketball, which should allow the Fever’s starters to play together.

The next five announcements could give further hints to Clark’s involvement. Teams need six players in this new league. If Unrivaled announces a couple more players with ties to number 22, she will likely participate.

Fans are excited to see Caitlin Clark and her Indiana Fever teammates back on the floor. The WNBA season will not begin until April, so Unrivaled is the next chance. Supporters will be rooting for the reigning Rookie of the Year to play and be the star of the new league. Stay tuned to see what Clark decides.
