4. Briann January

The 5’8 guard is one of the best perimeter defender in Fever history. January was drafted six overall in 2009 and immediately became part of the team’s success. She was a starter and made first-team All-Defense in 2012 as the Fever won the championship. It began a run of six straight years of her making the All-Defensive teams for Indiana.

The Fever made the WNBA Finals in January’s first season. Before her arrival, they won two playoff series. During her nine years with the franchise, they won a championship, made three WNBA Finals, and won ten postseason series. The 5’8 guard was a crucial part of the team’s most successful stretch in franchise history.

January was an All-Star in 2014, and she averaged 9.0 points, 3.6 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 3-pointer made in 26.4 minutes per game over his nine seasons with the Fever. She is second in franchise history in games and minutes played along with being second in assists, third in steals, and fourth in points.

Briann January was traded to Phoenix in 2018 and played five more years in the WNBA. She made another All-Defensive team. Only Tamika Catchings, Alana Beard, and Sylvia Fowles have made more in league history. January is one of the best defenders to ever lace them up and her prime years came with the Fever.
