The Indiana Fever and their fan base are eagerly awaiting the official start of the new WNBA season. It all officially begins this weekend, as the Fever take on the Washington Mystics on their home court with their strong roster that includes only five players (Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, Damiris Dantas, Lexie Hull) from last year's squad.
Many new players and a new coaching staff bring a fresh start and a new campaign slogan, "Now You Know," which the team launched earlier this week. The Fever are ready to enter a new era and instill greatness into their franchise once again.
"We are rewriting women's basketball history and penning a new story, redefining the culture of women's sports both in the state of Indiana and across the globe," the Fever said in a statement.
The team gained much attention last season, selling out visiting arenas, setting broadcasting records, and even seeing opponents moving to larger arenas this year in anticipation of massive ticket demands. There isn't a better state than Indiana for all of this basketball history to be made—after all, they're synonymous. Fever players took pride in the new slogan. It's a direct representation of their expectations going forward.
"We're young, we're vibrant, we have the personality in which we want to win," said veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell.

The Fever may have squeaked their way into the playoffs last season, but the franchise wants their fan base to know that they are here and they aren't going anywhere. They are determined to rewrite women's basketball history with their young star power and completely change the trajectory of the sport and the WNBA. Aliyah Boston didn't mince words when asked what fans should know about this year's team.
"That we're taking over the world," Boston said sternly.
Viewers are already intrigued just by the image of the team in their first few practices. The Fever’s social media team posts daily content, giving fans a glimpse of the new squad, and it looks promising. Even some of the Fever’s toughest opponents are starting to take notice.
To celebrate the new season and campaign, the Fever placed nine basketballs at community courts throughout Indianapolis. The city is ready, the franchise is ready, the fans are ready, and now the test to see if the rest of the WNBA is ready for the arrival of the Fever begins in a couple of short weeks.
