The Indiana Fever’s 2024 season ended as the Sun swept them in the first round of the playoffs, but that will be a footnote in the story years from now. Caitlin Clark’s historic and record-breaking rookie year will take center stage. The 22-year-old brought new popularity to the W and this was just the beginning of a legendary career.
Clark has barely had a moment to breathe over the last year. She led the University of Iowa to a second straight national championship game as she broke the NCAA’s all-time scoring mark before being drafted number one overall and jumping right into her first WNBA season. There was a steep learning curve and tons of pressure, but Clark kept thriving.
The 22-year-old is excited about some time off, and she plans to focus on a different sport she enjoys. Here is a look at what Clark had to say after the team’s exit on Sept. 25, and a look at her game away from the hardwood.
Caitlin Clark plans on playing lots of golf this offseason
Many WNBA talents play overseas in the offseason, but that does not appear to be Clark’s path. She has not been announced as part of Unrivaled or the Athletes Unlimited League either. The 22-year-old’s offseason plans currently involve another sport.
During her break, the Fever’s star will play lots of golf, and she naturally has significant ambitions.
This will not be Clark’s first time on the golf course. She has years of experience and played with members of the PGA Tour. The Fever’s star may not be good enough to go pro, but she certainly has talent on the course.
Clark only has a short window before the weather becomes too cold in Indiana, so expect to see her on the course plenty in the weeks ahead.
She will be working on both games this offseason. The 6'0 guard will be back in the gym in short order and working on her game. This was just year one. Caitlin Clark has massive room to improve and will add something significant to her game this offseason.
The 2025 WNBA season will not start until May. It gives Clark plenty of time to rest before going back to work. The Indiana Fever must put more talent around her and solve how to maximize their superstar. They will be the biggest draw in the W next season, but can they translate that to playoff success? Stay tuned to find out.
